Domaine Deux Roches St. Véran 2007
Winery
Winemakers Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray of Domaine des Deux Roches are certainly amongst the elite producers of the maconnais. The St veran is vinified and aged in stainless steel and is a rich, pure expression of Chardonnay. A proportion of Les Terres Noires
is aged in Vosges and Allier oak. These are some of the commune’s best wines, emphasising that a policy of quality over quantity invariably pays off.

St veran, maconnais, burgundy, france
The maconnais district lies in the south of the Burgundy wine region in France, west of the River Saone. It takes its name from the town of macon. It is best known as a source of good value white wines made from the Chardonnay grape; the wines from Pouilly-Fuissé are particularly sought-after. Almost all the wine made in the maconnais is white wine. The St veran vineyards border Pouilly Fuisse in the Southern Maconnais. The warmth of the climate and the deep limestone soil give the wines an attractive apricot and apple character.
